There are few times in life when you are given an opportunity to connect with the "Masses". We had one of those recently and I would have to say that it was great. Usually in the course of raising support for missions there are the traditional venues of small group speaking engagements, Sunday School class, and general speaking opportunities. This however, was none of those...but it was a great opportunity to partner with a fantastic organization that stands for something in today's business world. We found out about the idea of an outreach event through partnership with a local Chick-fil-a from another MAF couple who had done a similar thing and proposed it to one of the local Chick-fil-a's here in Charlotte, and they were quick to pick-up and run with the opportunity of having a "non-traditional" spirit night. The Chick-fil-a at the Carolina Pavilion opened up its facilities and really hosted and excellent event that fostered a true sense of community while at the same time learning a bit about what we do as a ministry. We were able to connect with friends in the community as well as those at our church, all over a meal that no one had to clean up! I don't think it gets any better than that. Thanks again to the folks at the Carolina Pavilion Chick-fil-a who worked feverishly to make this a success! I guess that's just one notch closer to heading jumping on the plane. Here are some of the photos from the event:
